Working with Elena Ravich on the purchase of this expensive coop apartment was the best experience my husband and I have ever had with a realtor. Due to frequent relocations and complicated family situations, we have purchased 5 other properties in the last 12 years, so we have some basis for comparison. And we are not easy clients, so any realtor has a challenge in dealing with us! We are too busy to speak much on the phone and often ignore emails, and we hate to be nagged or pressured, but we also don't want to miss out on important information or developments. Elena struck the perfect balance and never nagged but did keep us informed and reminded us effectively of the critical deadlines. Similarly, we are hopeless with numbers and forms, and almost gave up on the idea of purchasing a coop apartment once we understood all that would be required to apply, but Elena was true to her word and prepared the application package for us based on just the raw information we belatedly supplied. Further, the sellers in this case were difficult, high-pressure sellers and Elena pushed back hard for us, basically saving the deal. We really would have walked away from this potential purchase, even though it was the only apartment of interest to us (we were only looking for a second home, we had no need to purchase anything, and we were only potentially interested in an apartment within a three-block radius of a particular address, and not interested in anything in a modern-high-rise, nor anything with less than 3 bedrooms). But Elena dealt very effectively with the unpleasant tactics from the seller's side and helped us to evaluate new terms rationally rather than just walk away in anger. Elena also attended the walk-through and closing for us and has been fabulous about offering help with the impenetrable post-closing details. We really can't say enough good things about Elena, and we hope to work with her again in the future.
